SHRIMP BURGER

— COOKING OPTIONS —

Your burgers. Your choice.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Shrimp burgers generally cook best when frozen, and stick less when cooking if liberally coated on both sides with a light cooking oil. A non-stick cooking surface is also helpful. Approximately ½ teaspoon of oil brushed on each side of the burger works best for this purpose. Olive, Safflower, Canola, or Sunflower oil all work well to enhance surface browning while cooking, and produce little or no smoke at the suggested cooking temperatures.

KEEP FROZEN UNTIL READY TO USE.
COOK FROZEN OR THAWED.

GRILL

There is no substitute for outdoor gas or charcoal grilling — delivering a unique taste and texture hard to replicate by other cooking methods.

Cooking Temp
Medium heat (400° – 425° F)

From Frozen (preferred method)
5-7 minutes per side*

From Thawed
4-5 minutes per side*

As grill temperatures may vary, adjust your cooking times accordingly.

*Always cook until shrimp turn opaque or reach an internal temperature of 155°F.

PAN SEAR

Pan searing works equally well with both frozen and thawed burgers — producing a golden-brown texture on the outside, while remaining moist and plump on the inside. We find frozen burgers remain more moist than pre-thawed burgers when cooked this way.

OVEN BAKE

Convection and conventional oven methods both work well for cooking frozen shrimp burgers. We do not recommend cooking thawed burgers this way. Frozen burgers lightly oiled both sides, placed on foil on a cooking sheet works best, and requires less cleanup.

We prefer the convection oven method because it cooks the frozen patty all the way through, and gives a nice golden-brown texture overall. We also like the more flaky qualities of the final cooked burger.

AIR FRY

Air frying produces a beautiful crunchy golden exterior, and the shrimp remain moist and crunchy on the inside. A simple cooking method for both frozen and thawed burgers, with very little prep and cleanup required.

ELECTRIC GRILL

(George Foreman, Panini grill, Grillers, etc.)

A great way to quickly cook both sides of the shrimp burger simultaneously, with very little prep or cleanup. Works equally well with frozen or thawed burgers, creating a crunchy texture on the outside (plus grill marks), with moist plump shrimp on the inside.

6 minutes total, no flipping required

Thawed
4 minutes total, no flipping required
